$4.99Rotisserie Chicken
Seasoned whole chicken sold hot in a sealed bag. It is the one deli item with a flat price instead of a weight label.
The Costco deli is the refrigerated prepared foods section, usually at the back of the warehouse beside the rotisserie chicken ovens. It sells Kirkland Signature heat-and-serve meals, meal kits, wraps, salads and seafood, almost all priced by the pound and big enough for a family. It is a separate department from the food court near the exit.

Costco deli meals cost $3.49 to $14.75 a pound in late 2026, and a full tray runs about $13 to $30. The label price changes with each tray's weight, so compare the per-pound rate rather than the sticker. Per serving, the range goes from about $1.26 for mac and cheese to over $9 for salmon.

Typical US warehouse prices, November 2026. Deli prices vary by region and tray weight. Tray totals are the per-pound price times the typical weight reported by shoppers.
Count servings, not trays. A mac and cheese tray holds about twelve servings, while the braised beef feeds four, so one tray can cover two dinners for a couple but only one for a family. Enter your household and the planner below picks trays, totals the cost and counts the leftovers.
Servings come from Costco's labels where printed, otherwise from typical tray weights (marked as estimates). Prices are mid-range warehouse prices.
Below is every item we tracked in the Costco deli case this fall, grouped the way the shelves are laid out. Each card shows the posted price, the usual tray size and what is inside. Labels marked new arrived or returned in 2026, and seasonal items disappear after winter.

Yes. The Kirkland Signature rotisserie chicken costs $4.99 in US warehouses as of late 2026, the same price for decades apart from a brief rise to $5.99 during the 2008 recession. A July 2026 check found it at $5.66 on Costco Same-Day delivery, before fees and the $35 order minimum.

Most Costco deli trays go in a 375°F to 400°F oven, covered with foil, for 45 to 70 minutes until the center reaches at least 165°F. Plastic lids come off first, while foil pans can go straight into the oven. Times below come from Costco's labels and shopper tests, and the printed label always wins.
| Item | Oven | Time | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mac and Cheese | 400°F, covered with foil | 45 to 60 min | Heat until 185°F in the center, then uncover for the last 15 minutes so the cheese browns. |
| Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes | 375°F, clear lid off, foil on | 60 to 70 min | Set the tray on a sheet pan in the middle of the oven and check for 165°F. |
| Chicken Alfredo with Penne | Oven, covered | 40 to 60 min | It reheats better than most pasta trays, so leftovers make a good second dinner. |
| Stuffed Bell Peppers with Ground Beef & Rice | 400°F | 50 to 60 min | An air fryer heats two or three peppers faster and crisps the cheese. |
| Italian Sausage & Pasta in Wine Sauce | Oven, in the foil tray | About 50 min | Fans halve the grape tomatoes before baking and crush them into the sauce after. |
| Salmon Milano with Basil Pesto Butter | 400°F, in the foil pan | 25 to 30 min | The fish is raw, so bake until it flakes. Spoon the melted pesto butter over pasta or rice. |
| Chicken Pot Pie | 375°F, plastic lid off | 50 to 90 min | Published times differ a lot, so follow the label and bake until the crust is golden and the filling bubbles. |
| Rotisserie Chicken (leftovers) | Oven or microwave | Until 165°F | USDA advice for any cooked leftovers: reheat to 165°F and eat within three to four days. |

The oven is the better choice for full trays. Microwaving works for single portions, but cheese toppings stay soft and pasta edges dry out. Move portions to a glass dish first, cover them, and stir halfway.
Costco added more than a dozen deli items in 2026, leaning on its rotisserie chicken and on restaurant-style dinners. Braised beef with mashed potatoes, BBQ chicken mac and cheese and the beef and chicken fajita kit were the biggest launches, and the Italian sausage pasta and Greek pasta salad came back from retirement.
Trottole pasta, Kirkland pesto and mozzarella pearls. Early excitement, then mixed reviews on seasoning.
Rolled out to a few warehouses first and reached most of them by fall. The top-rated new meal of the year.
The regular mac dressed with rotisserie chicken, barbecue sauce and bacon crumbles.
Two proteins in one kit, plus a salmon ceviche with mango and macadamia nuts in some regions.
Back after a few years away. The same month brought the Barbecue Platter, which shoppers panned.
The five-pound pie returned with cooler weather, now at a lower price per pound than last year.
Shoppers and food editors agree on a few 2026 winners: the braised beef, the BBQ chicken mac and the Greek pasta salad. The biggest letdowns were kits that still need cooking or charge meat prices for sides, led by beef and broccoli with noodles and the Barbecue Platter. Mac and cheese remains the best value.
| Item | Verdict | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Braised Beef with Yukon Mashed Potatoes | Hit | Scores about 4.3 of 5 in published reviews. Tender beef, but much of the tray weight is potato. |
| BBQ Chicken Mac and Cheese with Bacon | Hit | Rated 10 out of 10 by Reddit fans who found it a clear step up from the plain mac. |
| Greek Pasta Salad with Rotisserie Chicken | Hit | Named one of the five best prepared meals of 2026, with about 104 g of protein per tub. |
| Beef and Chicken Fajita Kit | Split | Chowhound praised the two proteins, while The Takeout found the salsa and peppers bland for the price. |
| Pesto Pasta Salad with Mozzarella Pearls | Split | Looks great in the case, but many buyers called it under-seasoned at close to $20 a tub. |
| Beef and Broccoli with Noodles | Miss | Costs about $30 and still needs a full stir-fry. Reviewers flagged 580 calories and 28 g of sugar per serving. |
| Kirkland Signature Barbecue Platter | Miss | Ribs, wings, corn and potato salad at $5.49 a pound, about $50 a platter, with too little meat for most buyers. |

Mac and cheese works out to about $1.26 a serving across twelve label servings. The rotisserie chicken Asian wrap is the most expensive meal per serving at about $4.72 a wrap, more than three times as much.

Yes, but not from the deli case. Costco's Complete Gourmet Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner for eight is sold online for $199.99 after a $70 discount, ships frozen, and must be ordered by November 13. In the warehouse, members build their own feast from deli sides, pot pies and rotisserie chickens.
A 5 lb turkey breast with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, stuffing, green bean casserole, candied yams, gravy, cranberry relish, rolls and two desserts. Deliveries run November 4 to 20.
Two rotisserie chickens, a mac and cheese tray and a pot pie cost about $46.00 and feed a dozen with leftovers.
US warehouses close for the holiday on Thursday, November 26, 2026. Shop on Wednesday or earlier in the week.
Hosting a crowd? Order shrimp, sandwich and cheese trays ahead with the Costco party platter holiday schedule.
No. The food court by the exit cooks hot food to eat now, such as the $1.50 hot dog combo and pizza. The deli at the back sells chilled, family-size trays you heat at home. Party platters and custom cakes are a third service, ordered ahead through the deli and bakery.
Cold prepared meals, kits, salads and the hot rotisserie chicken. Members only, paid at the regular checkout.
Hot food to go near the exit: hot dogs, pizza, chicken bakes and sundaes. See the Costco food court menu.
Fruit, sandwich and shrimp platters plus cakes, ordered 3 to 14 days ahead. See Costco catering prices.
Need a hot dinner tonight instead? A whole 18 inch pizza from the food court costs $9.95.
Most deli complaints come from heavy trays costing more than expected, cold centers after a short bake, and favorite items vanishing without notice. Each card gives a quick fix, so you pay the price you planned and serve the meal the way it was meant to taste.
Each tray is weighed, so totals differ. Check the net weight on the label and pick a lighter tray if you are on a budget.
Short, cool bakes leave dense trays cold inside. Use the label temperature and check the center with a thermometer.
The deli rotates often and rarely announces when something is dropped. If you love an item, buy two and freeze one.
Same-Day prices run higher than the warehouse, plus fees and tip. Shop in person for the posted price.
Keep dressing packets sealed until serving, and eat wraps and salads within a day or two of buying.
Split a tray into portions on day one: eat some, refrigerate some, freeze the rest in labeled containers.
Yes. Portion leftovers into airtight containers and freeze them within a few days of purchase. USDA guidance says frozen leftovers keep their best quality for two to six months. Pasta bakes and meatloaf freeze well, while salads and wraps turn soggy.
It is a loss leader. Costco accepts a small loss on each bird because shoppers walk past the rest of the warehouse to reach the deli at the back, and most leave with a full cart.
Not in US warehouses. Lunch meats, cheeses and sliced turkey come prepackaged in the refrigerated aisle next to the prepared meals, so there is no line and no custom slicing.
Yes. Costco's satisfaction guarantee covers food, so bring the receipt or your membership card to the returns desk.
Yes, through Costco Same-Day on Instacart, which lets nonmembers order at slightly higher prices. In the warehouse itself you need a membership card, or a member who brings you along.
Few are. Pasta, pie crust, tortillas, croutons and pretzel rolls all contain wheat. The plain rotisserie chicken has no wheat in its ingredient list, but recipes change, so read the allergen line on every label.
Protein-heavy trays with vegetables score best: the chicken and grain bowl, the Greek pasta salad and plain rotisserie chicken breast meat. The stuffed peppers look light but carry about a third of a day's sodium per pepper.
