A Costco cake is a layered cake baked and decorated in the warehouse bakery, sold either as a custom order with your own design and message or ready-made from the bakery case. There are two custom sizes and two flavor pairings, and only Costco members can order and collect them.
- A half-sheet costs $27.99 and serves 48, or about $0.58 a slice.
- A 10-inch round costs $17.99 and serves 16, about $1.12 a slice.
- Every design costs the same; the price only changes with the size.

What flavors do Costco cakes come in?
Custom Costco cakes come in exactly two pairings: vanilla layers filled with cheesecake mousse and topped with white buttercream, or chocolate layers filled with chocolate mousse and topped with chocolate buttercream. You cannot swap fillings between them or put two flavors in one cake. For a mixed crowd, order one of each.
White cake

Costco offers about ten preset designs, including roses, balloons, candles, rainbow, a scored top, baby shower, graduation, the Costco bear, a cross and a flag, plus seasonal ones. You can pick the rose and icing colors and write a message, but there are no photo prints, characters or custom drawings.

How do you order a cake from Costco?
There are two ways. In the Costco app, tap Warehouse and then Warehouse Ordering no later than three days, and no earlier than two weeks, before pickup. At the warehouse, complete the paper order form at the kiosk about a day ahead. Either way, payment happens at checkout when you pick the cake up.

Can you use a Costco cake for a wedding, shower or graduation?
Yes, and many people do. Costco has no official wedding cakes, but couples stack or trim plain half-sheets and add their own flowers, saving hundreds next to bakery wedding cakes that often cost $300 to $700. Showers and graduations work with the baby shower design or school colors on the graduation design.
Weddings

Not on their own. The app needs a verified membership, and the paper form asks for member details. A member can place the order and pay at pickup on your behalf.
Can Costco deliver a custom cake?
Since August 2026, custom cakes can be ordered for delivery through Costco Same-Day in many areas, at higher prices than the warehouse and with delivery fees on top.
Why can't I find cake ordering in my Costco app?
The feature is rolling out warehouse by warehouse. Update the app, then check Warehouse Ordering again. If it is still missing, your warehouse has not joined yet, so use the paper form.
Can I return a Costco custom cake?
Under Costco's return policy, products made to a member's own specifications are not refundable unless they fail to match what was ordered. Check the cake before you leave.
Is there a printable Costco cake order form?
Costco does not post an official printable form on Costco.com. The forms sit at the bakery kiosk, and the PDFs floating around online are unofficial copies. At home, the app is the official way to order.
Can Costco put a photo or a cartoon character on a cake?
Neither is available. Edible photo prints and licensed characters are off the menu, so order a plain cake and add a photo topper or figurines at home.
Does Costco still offer strawberry filling?
Not in the US. Strawberry filling was dropped years ago, and today every custom cake uses vanilla cheesecake mousse or chocolate mousse.
